Building Bridges Through Food: A Look Back at Our Spring Iftar

When we opened the doors to our spring iftar this year, we did not know what to expect. The RSVPs had been strong, but the energy in the room exceeded anything we had planned for. Over 100 neighbors — from churches, synagogues, mosques, and community organizations — filled every seat in the ICC Main Hall.

The evening began with a brief welcome from our director, followed by the call to prayer at sunset. Then came the food: lentil soup, lamb stew with pilav, stuffed grape leaves, and an assortment of baklava and Turkish delight that our kitchen team had been preparing since early morning.

What made this year different was the conversation. After dinner, community members shared brief reflections on the theme of gratitude. The diversity of perspectives, delivered with warmth and humor, reminded everyone why these gatherings matter.

We are already planning next year's iftar, and we would love your help. If you are interested in volunteering, reach out through our contact page or sign up on the volunteer form.
